MODEL CITIZEN WITH THE LONDON LOOK | Sharon Henry
Besides the ability to shoot fashion, Darrin’s photography skills include the dexterity to fashion a set of gobos from cereal boxes using scissors and sticky tape. Gobos are used to shield and direct lighting and those newly up-cycled items are now stuck onto our two flash units forming part of our outdoor studio for a street photo shoot in London.
The spotlight is on model, Kat who is so luminously beautiful she doesn’t actually need lighting, a platinum blonde with bright blue eyes. She’s German who calls London home and as we shoot conversation bounces from food to travel, ageism to Brexit and everything in between. (Kat is a fellow blogger)

We found this gem of a location on a recce around London Bridge; a graffiti skateboard park under the arches of a railway bridge. The only downside is having to avoid pigeon bombs!
We haven’t done a photo shoot in London for ages but it doesn’t take long for Darrin to shake off the rust – he’s in his element and this collaboration with Kat is producing some stunning results.

While you check out the pictures, here’s a little of our Q&A with Kat.
Street Photo Shoot in London, Model Interview
How long have you lived in London? I’ve been living in London for two years. I started studying here two years ago at the University of Arts in London in TV Production and Life Events.
Have you always been interested in that sort of thing? Yes, I’ve been modelling for a few years now and have been in front of the camera quite often, so I wanted to change it up a little bit and work behind the camera more.
What’s the most special or memorable project you’ve been on with either film making or modelling? Well I’ve been in some big Hollywood productions but I’m not allowed to say the names yet, because they have not yet been released. It’s always quite exciting because there are many people involved and some famous actors that you get to meet. Everyone I’ve met so far was really nice.
What’s the best part about modelling for you? Meeting a lot of new people from all over the globe with interesting stories, it is a very international business.

What type of modelling do you enjoy the most? Street fashion and outdoor shoots because I’m interested in fashion.
What’s the best thing about London? How international it is, there’s so many people from all over the world, so many nationalities who you meet in your daily life and everyone is really nice.
What’s the biggest difference with London to a city in Germany? Londoners are more outgoing, they socialise more. Here it’s normal after a long day in the office or at work, people go into the pub with their office clothes and it’s just a normal thing. People love to socialise even after a long day. That’s what I love the most here that everyone is so welcoming, nice and outgoing. Not that people in Germany don’t do that, but on a whole other level.
If you could travel to anywhere in the world where would you like to go and why? If I had the money I would straight up, go to Rio de Janeiro! I love Brazil, I love the mentality, again so open-minded and welcoming. That’s how I see the country. I listen to Brazilian music a lot, it’s so energetic and fun, full of happiness, dancing, rhythm. Brazil to me is a country where people just love life. Even if they don’t have much, they appreciate and love life.
If someone was visiting London and you had to recommend a good day out or something in particular to see or do what would be your top tip? One thing about London that is great is that many or most of the museums are for free, so you can go any day of the week to a museum completely for free. I was in the National History Museum and you can literally spend the whole day in there, 5, 6, 7 hours and it’s still exciting. It’s a huge museum and everything is for free, that’s amazing.
You have a blog, what’s it about, why should people click on the link? My blog [Jenncysworld] is basically my diary of everything that is interesting to me. My lifestyle, fashion, makeup, especially fitness, I’m a vegan so I also share about healthy food.
