An Adult Conversation | Darrin Henry
Female pornstar Tina Kay is a Lithuanian born, award winning, adult film actress who now lives in UK.
This blog post is both a photoshoot and candid interview with pornstar Tina Kay. Adult industry work and topics of a sexual nature are being discussed.
Please do not continue if you are under 18 or likely to be offended by this topic.
All men watch porn. It’s been proven by scientists. But, more about that later.
Tina Kay: “Have You Seen My Movies?”
I’m sitting in a kitchen in a London apartment, having coffee with my wife, Sharon and a Lithuanian woman who just happens to be an award winning, porn movie actress, Tina Kay.
We’ve just finished shooting a set of boudoir photos which went brilliantly, and now it’s interview time.
Make no mistake, Tina Kay pornstar is hardcore. In her words, “I have no limits, I do everything.”
She won the UKAP (UK Adult Producers) Female Performer of the Year Award in 2014 and is keen for me to know she’s been nominated again for 2015.
Since starting our blog, this year has been incredible in terms of experiences and the people we’ve met. However, today is quite surreal.
“Have you seen my movies?” Tina asks with a glint in her eye. Sharon is grinning as I admit I have.
I had been aware of Tina as a model before, but only after booking a glamour photoshoot together did I learn about her adult work and pornstar movies. So, I had done a little “research” on her career and was thrilled when she agreed to this interview for our blog.
Tina (30) is Lithuanian born, where she began modelling at 16 years old. Five years later her career had progressed to adult photo shoots and video work.
Female Pornstar: “I’m A Very Sexual Person”
It brings us to the number one Tina Kay interview question, the one she gets asked the most: ‘how did you become a model and an adult actress?’
“Quite naturally,” explains Tina. “I’ve been modelling all my life from 16, so being around that industry all the time and getting offers and slowly, slowly, it moved to glamour shots and then girl, girl, and then all this – it’s all very natural really. I was like, why not?”
But the first time, performing in explicit movie scenes, what was that like?
“I really enjoyed it because I’m naturally a very sexual person. For me it was great, it was a pleasure; travelling, meeting people, enjoyment… I love it. Very natural for me, I kind of grew into it. And I love acting and where I can give my input into it, especially if it’s a freestyle scene.”
I note the term ‘freestyle scene’ and nod as if I understand, but really I’m just absolutely fascinated now by this first hand insight and trying not to come across as too naive.
Being More Open Minded
Tina is tall, stunning and bubbling with energy. We agree mainstream porn is becoming more normal today, noting the adult store, ‘Harmony’ now has a branch on London’s famous Oxford Street.
An industry once limited to top shelf men’s magazines, almost hidden away for fear of offending, is now occupying prime space on the high street, targeting both men and women.
“People are becoming more open minded,” observes Tina. “We’re having all these fun days where we actually interact with fans, take selfies and sign pictures, so it’s becoming more open.”
All Men Watch Porn
These comments are backed up by science, as mentioned earlier.
When scientists in Montreal tried to study the views of men in their 20s who had never watched porn, they hit a major obstacle – all men watch porn.
“We started our research seeking men in their 20s who had never consumed pornography,” said Professor Simon Louis Lajeunesse. “We couldn’t find any.”
When You Love What You Do
Even so, in the UK, Tina says she is never recognised while out in Tescos, or ‘on the street.’ But she has been recognised on planes and has had businessmen invite her to join them in first class, which “is fun.”
Next question – when you wake up in the morning for work, what excites you the most?
“Probably not knowing what I’m going be doing that day, yeah, not knowing who you’re going to work with, that’s exciting. Or how many people, or what we’re going to do! That’s unexpected.”
Boys And Girls
I’m curious to know what Tina won’t do, but the question is barely out before she tells me, “Oh no, I have no limits, I do everything!”
I can feel the heat in my face. I try to keep my composure as Tina tells me her favourite thing to do is fetishes; more unusual things like “role play and rope themes; things a little more edgy. Not boring, I don’t like romantic stuff.”
My next question felt quite bold when I wrote it down hours earlier, but by now it feels tame considering the flow of conversation. “You work with boys and girls, any preference?” I ask.
“Both. Uh huh. Both, at the same time probably!” The look on my face must be priceless as both girls erupt with laughter.
Health – How Safe Is The Adult Industry?
Tina is incredibly open and frank about her life and her work and we are having a good laugh dissecting the details. But there are also serious aspects of the adult industry and we cover these as well. Sexually transmitted diseases, (STDs) is a concern most people would have.
So how safe is the adult industry in that regard?
“Very safe,” Tina is quick to point out, “we’re actually the most safe there is because we get tested every two weeks. So probably we are more safe than the regular person who has a one-night stand and they never test.” It’s not something she worries about.
We go on to talk about adult work and its effect on personal relationships. Tina admits she stopped having relationships a long time ago and that many guys would have difficulty accepting her work. Even in her early 20s while just doing regular modelling this was a problem for her boyfriend at the time who wanted her to stop.
Not being in a relationship though is not a problem for our glamorous star. “I don’t need one to be honest, I’m not romantic; I get satisfaction from work or with work people.”
Despite porn’s increasing mainstream acceptance and modern society that sexualises youth and glamorises young naked bodies, this same society is quick to attach stigma to those working in the adult industry.
“The judgemental side of it,” is one of the biggest misconceptions about the adult industry, especially the belief that “most of us have been forced,” says Tina.
“They don’t realise but we actually love it. We love it, we enjoy it and it’s real. Nobody’s been forced. That judgmental side is not really true. It’s a fun industry and we’re having a good life.”
Taking Questions From Curious Couples
If for some reason a performer doesn’t get along with another, they go on their “no list,” so there’s always an option of who to work with. Tina confirms her list is “very short” but she does have one.
There are also some lighter, adult industry misconceptions.
“It’s not always glamorous with 10 orgasms,” Tina reveals, “sometimes it doesn’t happen and it takes a lot of work to finish that scene.” On the other hand, she admits when there is “good chemistry” they often get caught up in the pleasure of the performance, causing the director to shout “cut” and then having to re-shoot for the cameras!
Fans of Tina Kay videos often get in touch with questions, bedroom advice for couples for example, especially on Twitter. The most asked questions come from men wanting to know how they can “persuade their wives to do the things I do,” reveals Tina.
Doing my professional due diligence (of course) I check to see what her advice would be to those questions!
“Just watch a movie together, be open, tell them what you like,” is the answer. “This country is very conservative; a desire is kept very secret. Freedom; do everything, try everything; just experiment – orgies, couples, threesomes – everything! Go to the clubs, interact with other people. Sometimes you just discover by accident; experiment in life!”
What’s Your Hidden Talent?
It’s been an amazing interview; we have laughed through so much of it and gained such an insight into an exotic and mysterious world. Without a doubt it’s been one of my most privileged interviews.
What comes across most is just how down to earth a person Tina is. In her spare time she likes “…sleeping and eating. Just doing nothing.” She’s also very active and enjoys horse riding, ice skating and jogging; and loves to travel. Favourite stamp in Tina’s passport is Japan as “it’s so different to the rest of the world, a culture shock, the most developed, the most organised country in the world.” With an open ticket to anywhere in the world she would choose somewhere, “really extreme, like the north pole!”
Tina has a fitness routine to keep herself looking good. The quality she finds attractive in men is confidence and strong mindedness. She hates crowded places (like London), loves fruity smells and is living her dream as growing up she always wanted to be a model. Tina chooses “aeroplanes” as the greatest invention ever.
But the mischievous, delightfully honest and wicked sense of humour is never far away. In response to my quick fire question, what’s the one thing you can’t live without: “Internet and sex.” And, what’s your hidden talent, draws the response: “Does deep throat count? I can take any size!”
Sharon’s been chirping in every now and again with questions and one of these was to ask Tina does she have a motto in life. There was no hesitation in her reply:
“No limits, no rules, no regrets.”
Really enjoyed the article. It´s so refreshing to read something that isn´t written by a raging fan or someone coming in with a negative viewpoint that they want to prove. Tina sounds great and the interview was obviously a lot of fun!
Thanks for the comment. Tina was one of the nicest people we’ve met and one of the most professional models to shoot. It was fascinating learning about her life, it’s a privilige we’ve enjoyed with this blog, and yes, we also had a great laugh!
Most enjoyable post. Thanks.
Thanks Simon, appreciate the comment. As you can tell it was a most enjoyable experience for us too. Cheers.
