TROPICAL COVER SHOOT ISSUE | Darrin Henry
Breeze 3 E-Magazine is out!
How time flies. It seems like just yesterday Sharon and I were frantically piecing together our first Breeze magazine for the launch of the blog.
And now number three is being downloaded and read in more places than we could have imagined. Of all the content in issue 3 we are most chuffed with the three wonderful photo-stories submitted from around the world; South Africa, Netherlands and the USA. And of course, our tropical Breeze photoshoot this year with the stunning Gemma Lawrence.

What’s Inside Breeze 3 E-Magazine?
Breeze is an e-magazine, produced exclusively for followers of this blog, What The Saints Did Next. From the beginning we wanted the magazine to be a celebration of photography and a promotion for St Helena. By issue two we gave Breeze an international flavour, pulling in great photo-stories from photographers/writers in other parts of the world and we’re so pleased to continue this style in Breeze 3.
Breeze 3 e-magazine is again, 66 pages (PDF format) and packed with picture stories. Here’s a quick synopsis of five articles you will find inside.
Doors of Jamestown
Most of us walk past or step through without giving much thought to the character that doors lend to Jamestown. Yet all along the street front, the many different styles and colours are a fascinating mix, especially when they are all brought together as one collection.

The Doors of Jamestown is a special feature in Breeze 3 E-Magazine. How much attention do people pay to the variety and style of doors on the street? When we put them all together it becomes clear how much character the humble door adds to St Helena’s capital.
South African Adventures
St Helenian, Carol O’Dean recently up-staked and moved from St Helena to the big country of South Africa and the city that “means business,” Johannesburg. Through fresh eyes and awesome pictures Carol shares her first steps of a new life, including a comical collision – with a shark!
My Queen Emma Quest
Dutch photographer, Ewout Franse, resorts to undercover tactics while on the trail of Holland’s Queen Emma. His story is one that many photographers will identify with, when what should be a straight forward assignment turned out to be far more complicated than expected.
False Dawn – St Helena Airport Diary
The momentum of excitement that got 2016 started was literally blown away after a British Airways, Boeing 737-800, struggled to land in the Atlantic wind. We reported on this and many other big moments throughout the year from Prosperous Bay Plain; this ‘Diary’ article highlights some of those milestone events.
How to make a Flax Flower
As special souvenirs go, Wanda Isaac believes tourists would enjoy spending an hour learning to craft island flax into their very own arum lily flowers. We agree. In step-by-step pictures, this is the simple process that anyone can try.

Breeze 3 e-magazine is another 66 page special, with a colourful layout designed to bring our blog followers a variety of fascinating photo-stories. This is a snippet of what’s inside issue 3.
And there’s loads more great photo-stores in Breeze 3 E-Magazine, including a hiking trail review, yachting adventures of the Giffords, ‘bread and dance’ and a photographic look at ‘working ship’ on St Helena.
How To Get Breeze 3 E-Magazine
If you would like to download Breeze 3 E-Magazine to read at home, it’s easy. The e-magazine is made available for free to everyone who signs up to follow our blog using their email address.
Note, don’t create a WordPress Gravatar account or we won’t be able to contact you with download details. Just sign up by entering your email address in the box on the right side or bottom margin on any page here on our blog site.
It’s as simple as that. Once you have confirmed your sign up you will then receive an email with details on how to download Breeze 3 E-Magazine.
Like we said earlier, you can test it out for free as the first two issues are available to non-followers.

Breeze 3 E-Magazine features ‘Labour Take-On Time,’ a picture story about the men who ‘work ship’ at St Helena.
Junk emails
If you’re worried about submitting your email, don’t be. This is how your email address is used. You will receive an email notification for each new post we publish, on average two per week. The only other single email you will receive from us is our monthly newsletter on or about 10th of the month. That’s it.
You can also unsubscribe at any time from the blog and/or the monthly newsletter.
Finally, we are already planning the next issue of Breeze for January 2018. Feedback on the magazines is really helpful in planning future editions. If you’ve already downloaded Breeze (1, 2 or 3) please leave a comment about your favourite articles and pictures and maybe a suggestion about what you would like to see next time.
