RMS ST HELENA IN PICTURES | Darrin Henry
Five days at sea with nothing but endless ocean around us could in some ways be a photographic nightmare. But, travelling on the RMS St Helena there’s plenty of reasons to keep the camera near. The ship, well, she’s a poser!
But right now, here’s something a little different. Seven images of the RMS St Helena; a peek through the Picture Porthole.
1 Welcome! The card in the cabin when you embark, a name before you even see the face.
2 A lucky shot of the ever efficient lounge steward, Freddy, clearing the Sun Deck after tea and heading into the lounge.
3 The RMS crest etched into the shop’s glass door. We all spend time peeking through the windows waiting for opening time.
4 The porthole in the porthole!
5 Hopefully the crew know what all the markings mean! Looking down on the poop deck where the huge ropes will be secured when the ship is berthed in Cape Town.
6 The breakfast options are extensive, but nothing beats the full English to set you up for the day.
7 The toys in the children’s playroom has changed a lot since the early days of the ship, but the room remains as popular as ever. This was a quiet moment, very early, before the kids were out of bed.
That’s it. Seven views on the RMS St Helena, peeping through the Picture Porthole.
